The world is different today than it was 10 years ago, and a huge part of that is the pervasiveness of the internet. (Also cell phones weren't around when I went to High School, so I used pay phones to call my parents for a ride... I AM ANCIENT).
I lived in Clermont-Ferrand in 2003-04 and a German friend of mine made me a mix CD. It was an amazing mix of songs in crazy langauges that I had never heard of! And there was one song on it that I loved most of all... it was a mix of Spanish and something unidentifiable (maybe German?). I lost the mix CD over the years, but have often thought of the song, humming it to myself in the shower or on a walk or while I wash dishes.
Since I don't speak Spanish, I always thought the chorus was "Juanita la luna, y corazon." I've tried googling for that in the past, but nothing comes up. Today I tried again and I FOUND IT. As it turns out, the line is "Juanita la luna, hija del sol."
If you wait long enough, the internet will elevate your search terms high enough for you to find what you're looking for. Happy Labor Day weekend, friends. Here's "Juanita La Luna" by Büne Huber. They're Swiss!
